Taylor Rain (born in Long Beach, California) is an American former pornographic actress.

Career

Rain has stated that she started acting in pornographic films after the September 11 attacks deterred her plans to become a flight attendant. She began her career at age 20 under the pseudonym "Nikki Star", first appearing in the film Pop Goes the Cherry. From 2002 to 2005, Rain appeared in more than 200 pornographic films. Rain performed very few lesbian scenes. Those few scenes involved several females at once (as in High Desert Pirates with Felecia, Alexis Malone and Jynx), and were filmed for VCA Pictures, with the exception of a lesbian threesome in Penetration Nation. Also, Rain has never appeared in a scene with a black performer and stated that she would simply not do interracial scenes, although she was romantically linked with Lloyd Banks, who is African-American, and has also performed in a scene with Asian-American porn actor Rick Lee. She performed her first and only double anal in Un-Natural Sex 12. In 2005, she made her directorial debut with the 1st Strike Films release Ass Up Face Down, in which she also starred. In the same year, she auctioned a day with herself onset on eBay for US$3,900. Rain was the winner of the "Porn Star Beauty Pageant" on the Howard Stern Radio Show in March 2005, beating out fellow porn stars Kami Andrews, Railee, Renee Pornero, and Aurora Snow. Off-screen, Rain was editor-in-chief of ex-husband Scott Fayner's porn industry gossip blog lukeford.com, but announced in May 2006 that she would no longer fill this position.

Retirement

In December 2005, Rain announced her retirement from acting in pornographic movies. She is still involved in the pornographic industry as a director of titles, and still manages a pay website featuring pictures and videos of herself as well as a personal blog.

Personal Life

She was briefly married to porn writer Scott Fayner from January to May of 2004. When announcing her retirement from acting in December 2005, Rain also expressed her desire to settle down and start a family. In June 2006, she announced via her website that she was pregnant, but miscarried one month later. In February 2007, she spent 20 days in jail for possession of marijuana and for driving under the influence. Rain wrote in her blog that she was given the choice to either spend 20 days in jail or to do community service and enter a DUI program, and chose the jail time. She has since stopped using and selling drugs, and now attends meetings of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. Rain announced that she was pregnant again in March 2008 and that the ultrasound indicated the child would likely be a girl.
